To fix this, we added a protective guard and some heavy-duty gaskets to divert water away from the heat source. It’s the difference between a heater that lasts a few months and one that lasts years. We kept the wiring far away from the “wet zone” so you don’t get those annoying burn-outs. The honest truth about seals Nothing lasts forever. Because these heaters heat up and cool down constantly, those gaskets will eventually wear down after a few years. It’s just physics. Just keep an eye on the seals during your usual home maintenance. As long as they’re tight, the insides stay dry. We put this much effort into the protection because there’s nothing worse than a piece of hardware failing because of a tiny leak.
